How To Block Someone On Snapchat – SlashGear

Whether you want to block a friend or a random person who sent you a message, the steps to do this are pretty much the same. Once a person is blocked on Snapchat, they won’t be able to message, Snap you, or see your Stories and Charms. Here’s how to block a friend:

  1. Open Snapchat and swipe right to go to the Chat screen.

  2. Look for the person in Chat and long-press their name.

  3. Tap Manage Friendship.

  4. Tap Block.

  5. Tap Block again in the pop-up menu.

If you can’t find the person in Chat, you can tap the search button in the top left corner of the app and search for their name or username. Tap and hold their name and follow the same steps. Blocking a person who isn’t a friend on Snapchat is quite similar. To do this, long-press their name in Chat, and then tap Block. After you’ve blocked someone on Snapchat, they’re automatically removed as a friend. While you might block a friend due to personal reasons, it’s worth tweaking your privacy settings if you want to stop strangers from messaging you on Snapchat. Here’s how:

  1. Tap your profile picture.

  2. Tap the gear icon in the top right to open settings.

  3. Scroll down to Privacy Controls and select Contact Me.

  4. Tap Friends.

Once this is done, only people you’re friends with will be able to contact you on Snapchat. You can also modify your Story settings in the Privacy Controls menu by tapping View My Story and selecting My Friends.
