Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku Anime Episode 9 Delayed

If you are wondering why you couldn’t find Episode 9 of Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku the previous weekend, that’s because the episode has been delayed.

After Episode 8 titled Teacher and Student was released on Saturday, May 20, it was revealed by the anime’s Twitter account that Episode 9 will be delayed by a week. Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku Episode 9 will air on Saturday, June 3 instead:

“Thanks for watching Episode 8! There won’t be a new episode coming out on May 27. Episode 9 will be streamed on June 3. Please look forward to it!”

Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku premiered on April 1 as part of the Spring 2023 lineup. Shortly after the first episode was released, the total episode count of the anime was revealed.

The anime adapts Yuji Kaku’s manga, and it is being produced by Studio Mappa. Set at the ending of the Edo period, Hell’s Paradise tells the story of Gabimaru, who is a strong Shinobi on death row. To escape his fate, he is tasked to retrieve the Elixir of Life from a sinister island. If he is able to bring back the legendary item, his life will be spared. The executioner Yamada Asaemon Sagiri accompanies Gabemaru as they make their way to what is rumoured to be the Buddhist pure land Sukhavati.
