Google has warned Chrome users who are still using older versions of the web browser. If you are still using the Chrome browser’s version M48 or earlier then you won’t be able to use the Chrome sync once the company rolls out the stable version of M96. For those who don’t know, the Chrome sync feature on the browser stores your passwords, bookmarks, search history, open tabs and preferred settings on the company’s server. This feature helps you to access all the stored information across various devices by using the same Google account. It also helps you to automatically sign in to Gmail, YouTube and other Google services.
As per a blog post by Chrome Support Manager, Craig, the feature will no longer work on older versions of the browser. “As previously shared in the Chrome Enterprise release notes for M94, we’d like to inform anyone using Chrome Browser version M48 or lower that Chrome sync will be deprecated on these versions, and will no longer work once M96 launches on the stable channel. In order to continue to use Chrome sync please update your browser to Chrome version M49 or higher,” reads the blog post.
