Google Pixel 6 camera features now available on older Pixel smartphones – Times of India

Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro smartphones were launched by the company last month. The devices are powered by the company’s in-house Tensor SoC. Both the smartphones run on the latest Android 12 operating system out-of-the-box and apart from this the devices get few exclusive camera features such as Face Unblur, Magic Eraser, and others. The company also added a few more camera tools such as Timer Light and exposure modification tool to the smartphones. Now, as per a report by XDADevelopers, users can also get these tools on older Pixel smartphones as well.
According to the report, users have to download and install the APK of Google Photos 8.4 to get the tools. As of now, the update for the application is not available on Google Play Store for most users. Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are the first smartphones to receive both the tools. The Timer Light uses the flash on the back of the smartphone as a countdown whenever the user sets a timer for a photo. The exposure tool allows users to control the exposure of the frame manually.
As per several reports, you can also use the Pixel 6 exclusive Magic Eraser tool on older Pixel smartphones as well. To install the feature, users just have to sideload Google Photos 5.64 on Pixel devices with Android 12. For those who don’t know, the Magic Eraser tool helps you to remove unwanted objects and people from the images in Google Photos by using artificial intelligence.
Recently, the company also rolled out a feature for the Pixel 6 smartphone that allows it to track heart and respiratory rate through camera and flash. The Google Fit feature was announced by the company in March this year and was already available on Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a smartphones.
