Google has launched Google Play Points in India: Everything you should know | Digit

Google has started to roll out their reward system, Google Play Points will be rolled out to users in India in the coming week. The service is already available in over 28 countries with over 100 million users. Let’s take a look at what are Google Play Points and how to use them! 

What are Google Play Points?

Play Points is a reward program by Google. It helps users earn points and rewards for the many ways they use Google Play. Users can earn points when they make purchases with Google Play, including in-app items, apps, games, and subscriptions. The points get added up and can be later redeemed as Play Credit and users can use them how they’d like to on the store. 

 

The rewards program has four levels: Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum. They provide members with different perks and prizes depending on the tier they are in, which is based on the number of points they have collected. The service is free to join and there is no recurring or monthly fee. Google says that users can earn five times the Play Points in their first week. 

How to use Google Play Points?

Using the Google Play Point reward system is pretty simple, all you need to do is follow the steps mentioned below:

  • To start, open the Google Play Store app on your Android device.
  • Next up, tap on your profile icon on the top right.
  • There, you will find the option for Google Play Point, click on that to see the total points you’ve collected so far! 

In a blog post, Google said: “We have also partnered with developers of popular apps and games across the world to help users redeem their points for special in-app items. In India, we are partnering with 30+ participating titles,”
