With fears of aggressive rate hikes moderating, the domestic equity market managed to end higher for the sixth straight session on Friday. Sensex closed above the 56,000 mark while Nifty ended above 16,700. Among sectors, the bank was the main gainer while power, telecom and IT were the main losers.

There were many counters in the limelight for the day, many of whom ended up with smart gains. Here are a handful of them:

UltraTech Cement shares ended 5 per cent higher at Rs 6,437 on Friday after the company beat analyst expectations in its Q1 results. The cement major’s Q1 PAT dipped 7 per cent YoY to Rs 1,582 crore.

The stock of the midcap IT company rallied up to 3 per cent to Rs 998.05. Happiest Minds reported that its Q1 PAT jumped 57.7 per cent YoY to Rs 56.34 crore.

JSW Energy stock zoomed up to 6.76 per cent to the day’s high at Rs 250.05 after the company posted a 166 per cent YoY ascent in consolidated net profit to Rs 554.78 crore in the June 2022 quarter.

Quick Heal Technologies

Quick Heal Technologies shares ended 6.9 per cent higher at Rs 212.55 after the company’s board approved Rs 150 crore buyback.

The stock HDFC AMC fell 2.75 per cent during the day to Rs 1,872.05. The mutual fund house said its CIO, Prashant Jain, has tendered his resignation. The HDFC Group company also announced its quarterly result in which its profit after tax fell 9 per cent YoY to Rs 314.2 crore.

IndiaMart InterMesh shares ended 4.17 per cent lower at Rs 4,077.10. The company posted a 48.8 per cent decline in consolidated net profit to Rs 46.69 crore in June 2022 quarter. The company had registered a net profit of Rs 87.9 crore in the corresponding period of the last fiscal year.

ET Bureau & Agencies

Coforge shares ended 3.3 per cent higher at Rs 3,740. The IT company on Friday posted a 21.1 per cent increase in consolidated profit after tax at Rs 149.7 crore in the June quarter.
