NAIA Baseball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Four Mid-South Conference teams are mentioned in the NAIA Baseball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll, the national office announced Wednesday.
Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) is the highest-ranked conference team in the poll moving up two spots to No. 20 with 200 points. The Lions carry a 20-8 overall mark and are 8-4 in conference play. Freed-Hardeman has won its last three games and four out of five and travel to Bethel this weekend.
Cumberlands dropped eight spots to No. 25 in poll with 82 points. The Patriots have posted a 19-10 record overall this season, including a 6-6 mark in Mid-South action. Cumberlands is back in action this weekend hosting No.8 Georgia Gwinnett and (RV) Point Park (Pa.).
Georgetown (Ky.) (70) and Cumberland (Tenn.) (3) are mentioned in the receiving votes section of the poll.
Southeastern (Fla.) (529 points) is ranked No. 1 in the poll with all 19 first-place votes, followed by Tennessee Wesleyan (511) and Lewis-Clark State (Idaho) (493). LSU Shreveport (476) and Oklahoma City (464) round out the Top 5.
The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences and Unaffiliated Groupings.
The next scheduled Baseball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll is scheduled for Wednesday, April 6.
