Forspoken: Developers Reveal Slightly Over-The-Top PC Requirements Along With Details About Performance Modes

Square Enix’s Forspoken is set to release on January 24 for the PS5 and PC. As the launch day is approaching, SE has shared the PC system requirements for the game, and it appears that players will need some beefy hardware to run the title according to the requirements.

A recent developer’s livestream revealed that players who want to meet the recommended requirements for Forspoken will need a CPU that is either an AMD Ryzen 5 3600 or an Intel Core i7-8700K, operating at 3.7 GHz or better. As for the GPU, players will need either an AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT 12GB or an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 8GB. Square Enix also recommends having 24GB of RAM and 150GB or more of space on a solid-state drive. And all of this is for running the game on 1440p 30 FPS. Square Enix didn’t share system requirements for a 1080p 60 FPS experience.

Those who want to go to the ultra side, will need a Ryzen 5 5800X that operates at 3.8 GHz or better, or an Intel Core i7-12700K. This should be paired with a Radeon RX 6800 XT 16GB card or a GeForce RTX 4080 16GB card. Square Enix says players need 32GB of RAM to run Forspoken on ultra settings. It also requires a NvMe SSD with storage space of 150GB or more.

The system requirements have puzzled fans looking forward to the game. The minimum specs requirement only accounts for a 720p 30 FPS experience. The 4K requirements list the AMD RX 6800 XT and the Nvidia RTX 4080, even though both the GPUs are not similar in performance.
