Few POCO, Redmi, Mi phones get 1 extra year of warranty by Xiaomi: Here’s why | Digit

Xiaomi has been launching different phones every now and then. Be it Xiaomi or its other brands like- Redmi or POCO all of them have been rolling out brand new phones and also flagships.

So, with all the new phones coming in Xiaomi took a leap of faith and decided to give its users a surprise. Xiaomi is giving its customers an extended warranty of two years on selected devices. The announcement was made through Discord.

The phones listed under this extended warranty are: Redmi Note 10 Pro, Redmi Note 10 Pro Max, Mi 11 Ultra, or POCO X3 Pro. If you face any issues in any of these phones over the additional year then you can easily walk into any service centre and get the help required  for free.

There is of course a reason behind Xiaomi taking such a step. The reasons are faulty motherboard and problems with the selfie camera, according to reports. This was an issue from Xiaomi’s end hence they have decided to give an extra year out for the repairs. But you should have the invoice of the phone in order to claim the extended warranty.

However, it’s definitely uncharacteristic of Xiaomi to not make a formal announcement about this warranty extension scheme for select few Mi, Redmi and POCO models. Few people are wondering online as to why Xiaomi took the step of revealing this warranty extension on Discord, of all communication channels, as the extension is nowhere mentioned on their website even now.
