F1 23 is free this weekend – Try the Las Vegas Grand Prix for yourself

If you’re saving money for Christmas but still fancy trying something new this weekend, then you should check out F1 23 on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Steam. To celebrate this weekend’s Grand Prix in Las Vegas, EA and Codemasters are giving fans the opportunity to play the latest Formula One game for free. While you’ll need an Xbox Game Pass Core or Ultimate membership to play on Xbox consoles, no such restrictions are in place for PlayStation users.

Developed by genre heavyweights Codemasters, the new F1 game features all the latest courses and drivers, not to mention a surprisingly entertaining story mode.

“A new chapter in the thrilling ‘Braking Point’ story mode delivers high-speed drama and heated rivalries,” reads the official description.

“Race wheel-to-wheel at new Las Vegas and Qatar circuits and earn rewards and upgrades in F1 World. New Red Flags add an authentic strategic element, and the 35% Race Distance feature delivers more action and excitement.”

In addition to F1 23, Xbox Game Pass Core and Ultimate subscribers can Deceive Inc and Stray Blade for free this weekend.

Much like F1 23, both games are discounted as part of the Free Play Days promotion, which means you can pick them up at a discounted price if you want to continue playing.

Over on PC, gamers can grab two free titles from the Epic Games Store. Available to download and keep, the games include Earthlock and Surviving the Aftermath.

Earthlock is a colourful and charming turn-based role-playing game developed by Snowcastle.

“Embark on a journey to save the beautiful world of Umbra, a harsh planet that stopped spinning thousands of cycles ago,” reads the official description.

“What started as a mission to rescue Amon’s uncle from the clutches of an ancient cult, soon spirals into an adventure that was centuries in the making. You must bring together this group of unlikely heroes to stop the ruinous past from repeating itself.”

Surviving the Aftermath, on the other hand, is a post-apocalyptic strategy game and city builder.
