Everything We Know About D&D’s Planescape: Adventures in the Multiverse Sourcebooks

IGN was recently given an early look at Planescape: Adventures in the Multiverse, a collection of three books for Dungeons & Dragons that will focus on the Outlands and its capital city: Sigil. Here’s everything we know so far:

Overview

Release Date: October 17, 2023

Price: $59.95 (estimated)

Length: 256 pages, across three books

Planescape: Adventures in the Multiverse is a trio of books that return to the Concordant Domain of the Outlands, a plane of reality that sits at the center of the multiverse in the Forgotten Realms. The setting originally appeared in Planescape in 1994 and spawned the critically acclaimed Planescape: Torment video game.

This return to Planescape comes in a slipcase that includes Sigil and the Outlands, a setting sourcebook with player options, locations, and characters from the dreamlike region, Morte’s Planar Parade, a compendium of characters and creatures from the Outlands, and Turn of Fortune’s Wheel, an adventure that makes heavy use of the setting.

The package also comes with a DM screen and a poster map.

Sigil and the Outlands

This 96-page sourcebook is the meat and potatoes of the collection, and serves as an introductions to the Planescape and offers new rules and player options for the setting. It also features an extensive breakdown of all the regions of the setting.

Morte’s Planar Parade

This book details various characters and creatures one might encounter in the Outlands, and runs 64-pages long.

Turn of Fortune’s Wheel

A summary provided to IGN for adventure set in the Planescape reads: “A plot to undermine the rules of reality has caused a glitch in the multiverse. Contend with mighty immortals and chronicle the farthest reaches of the Outlands to uncover the truth of this conspiracy.”

The adventure is 96 pages long and will “take players on a tour of the Outlands and provide lots of ideas for the kinds of things that might happen in that setting.”

That’s everything we know about Planescape: Adventures in the Multiverse so far!
