Elden Ring, the open-world, action-adventure RPG from FromSoftware is wildly popular across the gaming community and also managed to win the Game of the Year award last year. The title’s fame has reached the world of WWE too one of the prominent wrestlers, Randy Orton has been spotted talking about playing the game. However, he also has a humorous story attached to it, learn more below.
The story comes from Insiderz TV (via Kotaku), which is a YouTube channel consisting of two creators that speak about their experiences while wrestling in the WWE. During one of their recent videos, the duo revealed their conversation regarding arguably one of the biggest stars in WWE, Randy Orton and he had an interesting story to share with them.
The conversation started with Randy Orton approaching the duo and asking them if they liked video games, to which they replied stating they “love” video games. Orton then shared that he was sitting on his “tour bus playing Elden Ring” and the duo was ecstatic about this fact and also revealed their enthusiasm about other FromSoftware titles such as “Dark Souls”.
Orton responded stating “It’s fucking hard”, however, he “paid a guy like a thousand bucks” to provide him with ‘infinite runes’ so that he could instantly reach level 100. Orton added that he loves the game, but couldn’t “deal with that bullshit” which is why he paid $1000 to a guy for the runes.
Many players will call this a pay-to-win strategy, however, it makes sense in Randy Orton’s case as the guy does not have the time to put in hours of grinding due to the constant training, matches, and tours, but still wants to enjoy the game. Hence, he resorted to paying a player to help him out in this situation. Pay-to-win is not the way to go in games, but if you genuinely do not have the time to grind it out, but still want to enjoy the game, then this strategy might be your only option.
