Deevyanshu Malu Odisha topper in JEE Main-2022 – Times of India

BHUBANESWAR: The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Monday announced the result of JEE (Main)-2022 (Session-1) for paper-I. Deevyanshu Malu was the Odisha topper in the national-level entrance examination. He secured 99.989 NTA score.

Deevyanshu, a native of Bhubaneswar, said he will choose computer science as his subject of study while taking admission. “I am happy that my name came in the list of state toppers. I will try to get a good rank in JEE Advanced to ensure a seat in IIT. But IIT Bombay is my favourite,” he added.

Physics and Chemistry were his favourite subjects. “I was preparing for the examinations with my twin brother Deeptanshu. Most of the time we were attending classes online,” he added.

Deevyanshu’s twin brother Deeptanshu secured 99.937 NTA score in the JEE Main-2022 (season-I). They are the students of the KIIT International School Bhubaneswar. Deeptanshu also loves physics and chemistry over all subjects. Both went to one school and a coaching centre and sat for the same entrance examination. Finally, both of them crossed 99 NTA score.

This success of the twin brothers brought cheer among the parents and family members. Their father Chandan Malu, who is presently working in an IT company at Bhubaneswar, said his two sons were preparing for the examination patiently. “If one of them fails to understand a topic, the other will clear his doubts. I am proud of my sons,” he added.

He said the duo wants a better result in JEE Advanced to get into IITs. “They will choose computer science as their subjects,” said the father.

KIIT International School is a constituent unit of the KIIT Group of Institutions. “It is indeed a proud moment for all of us. Deevyanshu is not only a product of our school, but he has also made the state proud with his impeccable performance,” said founder of the school Achyuta Samanta while congratulating the boy for his achievement.

The school sources said, apart from Deevyanshu, more than 10 students from the school have scored above 99 percentile. They were Kanishk, Deeptanshu and Pratham.

A total 14 students from Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand, Punjab, Assam, Rajasthan, Haryana, Karnataka, Telangana and Uttar Pradesh scored 100 NTA score. Nobody from Odisha has secured the perfect score, NTA sources said.

The JEE Main session-I for paper-I (BE/BTech) was conducted by the NTA from June 24 to June 30. The NTA scores for paper-II (BArch, B Planning) will be issued in the next few days, said the official sources.
