Dark Mode: Microsoft’s Office app on Android gets dark mode – Times of India

Microsoft has rolled out the dark mode setting for its MS Office on Android. The update has begun rolling out and you should be able to use it in your Office app on Android. It was a “highly requested feature” by many customers and we are not surprised as Dark Mode, for many, gives a much more comfortable reading a working experience if working from the smartphones. It also helps cut down battery consumption. Microsoft Office users are set to receive the update within a few weeks if it has not already arrived on their smartphone Office app.
If not automatically enabled, users can also “turn Dark Mode on or off by tapping your profile icon on the Home tab in the Office app, selecting Settings, and then selecting Light, Dark, or System Default from the Theme options.”
In case you do not know, Google Docs already comes enabled with Dark Mode. Microsoft, as usual, has been again late to the party, the other recent example being the launch of AAC codec for Windows 10. The company recently finally added support for AAC codec for Bluetooth to Windows 10 that would make listening to music online via Bluetooth a lot better. AAC or Advanced Audio Codec is meant to deliver high-quality audio streaming packed in smaller files. Microsoft announced this and more in its Windows Insider Preview Build 21370.
One other audio feature that was announced is the “unified end point” which means you would no longer have to switch to multiple audio points when you connect your Bluetooth headset to your Windows 10 device. There will be only one visible audio endpoint in the UI which will automatically switch to the most appropriate one.
