Devolver Digital’s “Cult of the Lamb” has already won hearts as an indie rogue-like, with the cutest of animations for the darkest of themes. The journey of the possessed lamb in creating a cult for “The One Who Waits” has won it multiple awards and nominations like for The Best Indie in The Game Awards 2022. The game has now received its first free major update “Relics of the Old Faith”. Here are the details.
Story and combat of Cult of the Lamb
The most notable addition with the free update, Relics of the Old Faith, would be a new storyline that you can start after completing the base game. With the new story, 37 new “Relics” have been added to the game, which modify the combat system to a huge extent. The Relics are basically items that can be used during combat, all of which render Heavy Attacks. However, the Relics aren’t the only alterations brought to the combat system.
The free update also brings new Sermon upgrades that unlock extra damage, and a new ability to “reroll your Weapons and Curses on Crusades”. Additionally, six new enemies, four new Bishop transformations, and 16 new minibosses have been added to fight in the new Crusades.
New modes and settings
New settings include the new photo mode now available in the game, “that allows you to tilt, change height, and focus, and take Photos while pausing the game.” The photo mode also includes a gallery for you to view and edit your photos.
Multiple new accessibility options have been added, including those dedicated to patients of dyslexia, and colour blindness.
Other additions and changes
The Relics of the Old Faith free update also includes a Heretic DLC Pack, which contains five new Follower Forms, eight new Decorations and a new decorative fleece. In addition to this, multiple bug fixes and balancing changes have now also been added to the game. For more information, check out their complete patch notes right here.
