The Outsiders won the first map with a 16-12 win in Mirage, where they had a 100%-win rate during tournament. Then, the two teams moved on to Overpass, where Heroic had beaten Outsiders previously in the tournament. However, things took a different turn, as Outsiders stomped them with a 16-6 victory.

IEM Rio Majors 2022 was a historical tournament due to all the twists and turns that we got to see. As spotted by DotEsports, history was created when none of the four semi-finalists were ranked in the top 5 world rankings, with Outsiders, MOUZ, FURIA, and Heroic not being part of HLTV’s Top 5 list leading up to the tournament. Moreover, none of these teams had ever won a major as well.
On the topic of CS:GO, ESL has announced that they will be returning to Brazil next year for IEM Spring. This will be for the Intel Grand Slam Tournament, where 16 teams will compete for a prize pool of $250,000.
