Counter-Strike 2: CS:GO Players Spend Around $100 Million in Anticipation for Sequel, Fans Request Valve to Make Some Changes

Counter-Strike 2 is a title that has taken everyone by surprise, thanks to Valve sneakily announcing the franchise’s latest instalment. Counter-Strike 2 is an all-around expansion of Counter Strike: Global Offensive, with upgrades to existing systems, gameplay, skins and more. It will be arriving as free-to-play update for CS:GO, which has players even more excited.

Counter-Strike 2 is all set to release in the Summer of 2023, and ahead of its release, players are already going wild with the game. As it was announced recently that players will be able to carry over every piece of equipment they have gathered over the years on CS:GO, manynow spending even more money on cosmetics.

According to stats by CSGOCaseTracker, the title has sold 21.6 million cases in the month of January, 27.7 million cases in the month of February and a whopping 39.5 million cases in the month of March. This has brought Valve a sum of more than $200 million. as each case is valued at an average of $2.50. Out of the $200 million, roughly $100 million has been earned in just March itself.

Valve Asked for One Major Change

As Counter-Strike 2 is in the limited test period, the game has been receiving feedback from players all around the globe. According to a report of DotEsports, players are looking for more “transparency” in the matchmaking system and they are not happy with how climbing and falling from ranks are dealt with. They have also given the example of Valorant for having some of the most proper matchmaking in the PC shooter genre.
