Central Florida Bonding launches their newest blog geared at educating drivers about road rage and its hazards. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration defines road rage as “when a driver commits moving traffic offenses so as to endanger other persons or property; an assault with a motor vehicle or other dangerous weapon by the operator or passenger of one motor vehicle on the operator or passengers of another motor vehicle.”
Hadi Khouri, owner of Central Florida Bonding, states, “Florida is ranked as one of the top states in the U.S. for instances of road rage. Road rage is a serious issue. The ramifications from road rage can range from minor infractions sometimes classified as an annoyance at another driver up to a serious offense such as a person killing another driver. My staff and I have written our newest blog post in hopes that we can better educate Central Florida drivers with the hopes of reducing rage on the road! In the blog post we discuss the causes of road rage, its forms, how to prevent it, and what to do if you are a victim of road rage.”
Highlights from the blog include:
-
Road rage equals aggressive driving - Road rage can be triggered by many causes such as a delay in traffic, being late for an appointment, or even as a learned behavior
- Road rage varies and can include running a red light, switching lanes while close to another car, tailgating, making obscene gestures, cutting off another car on purpose, ramming into another car, and confronting the driver of another car
- Help prevent road rage by listening to soothing music, get enough sleep, factor in extra drive time, be empathetic to another driver who may actually just be lost or be distracted by a child, and do not provoke another driver that is already driving aggressively
- If threatened by road rage then remain calm. Stay away from the other vehicle by changing lanes, slowing down, or even exiting the highway. Do not respond or interact with the aggressive driver. Avoid eye contact. If the aggressive driver persists or follows then head to the police station
