At Paul Stuart the New Phineas Cole Menswear Collections Have Arrived

Phinease Cole Safari Jacket and Cargo Pants

Regardless of the weather, bold color and exceptional tailoring is always on our mind at Phineas Cole and this summer is no exception. The new collection features exclusive styles in soft suede, lightweight linen, and cashmere in a palate of both strong colors and natural tones.

American Sport

The sporty American sensibility is represented here with cotton cargo joggers and rugby stripe polo shirts with crisp white collars. Unstructured linen sports jackets are paired with turtlenecks and silk scarves made in England that feature vintage prints of tennis players from the 1920s. There are sweaters for tennis, boating, and rowing. Creative Director Ralph Auriemma says, “These are dressy designs that have an athletic DNA. This collection is for contemporary men who are looking for luxury clothing that reflects their modern sensibilities.”

Summer Ivy

Auriemma, inspired by a photo of a well-dressed man in a traditional Ivy Style ensemble, took it in a completely different direction by adding in lots of bold colors, unusual fabrics, and silhouettes. To begin with, this collection features a paint box of color in lightweight Scottish cashmere sweaters, pique knit cotton sweaters, and a color wheel of cotton chino twill pants for the modern man to choose from. There are piped linen loungewear sets in lavender, blue-green, and tomato red with a drawstring elastic waist and stand-up Nehru collars.

Vintage Sailing – Indonesian Islands

Time spent on the water whether it’s on a yacht, or a handmade teak schooner requires a specific wardrobe of its own. Inspired by a vintage photo of a wooden boat from the 1920s in the South China Sea, Auriemma has created a complete collection of resort wear that perfectly outfits the traveler for any adventure that awaits him. “These are dressy styles for the summertime,” says Auriemma pointing to summery suit materials and shirting in lightweight materials that are formal and elegant. ‘I wanted these jackets to pair with shirts that feature traditional round cutaway collars with horizontal stripes that compliment pin dot ties that are very crisp and distinguished.” With a modern look, ties are narrower and English blazers have gunmetal silver buttons. For sunny days, there’s a broad-brimmed Panamanian straw hat dyed indigo blue and canvas carry-all tote bags. Swimsuits feature archival sailing motif prints and for cooler nights a cashmere and linen striped sweater that is made in Italy. A lightweight suede safari-style jacket and cargo pants are perfect for dockside excursions. For nights on board, there are even 100% silk sailboat print PJs with a Nehru collar and red piping.
