After Kejriwal’s outsider jibe, Gujarat BJP chief hits back with a ‘Khalistani well-wisher’ tweet

A war of words broke out between BJP Gujarat president CR Patil and Arvind Kejriwal during the Delhi chief minister’s visit to Bharuch on Sunday.

Addressing the Adivasi Mahasammelan in Bharuch, Kejriwal said, “Gujarat BJP president CR Patil is a resident of Maharashtra. BJP couldn’t find a competent president from 6.5 crore Gujaratis? They would run Gujarat through a man from Maharashtra? People of Gujarat will not tolerate such a big insult,” he said.

Kejriwal also reiterated his allegation that BJP is looking at an early election in Gujarat. “I heard that elections are to be held early in Gujarat,” he said. “They are scared of the Aam Aadmi Party. First they (AAP) formed the government in Delhi, then in Punjab and now it’s Gujarat’s turn. So they (BJP) are saying don’t give them (AAP) time. If they (AAP) get time till December, there will be a sweep in Gujarat.”

Kejriwal was in Bharuch to meet Bharatiya Tribal Party (BTP) chief Chhotubhai Vasava and discuss possible alliance for the upcoming assembly election in the state.

While AAP has been in discussion with BTP for a possible alliance, no formal announcement has been made so far. On Saturday, Kejriwal also appealed to the “good leaders in Congress” to join AAP to bring in a change in Gujarat.
