A new Death Stranding game could be under development, hints ‘The Walking Dead’ star – Times of India

Japanese video game maker Hideo Kojima may be working on a sequel to its critically acclaimed third-person adventure game Death Stranding. The Walking Dead actor Norman Reedus, on whom the lead protagonist Sam Bridges of the game is modeled on, recently outed another game in the same universe in an interview with AdoroCinema (via partner site IGN Brazil) saying: “I think we’re doing a second Death Stranding.” He continued, “[Death Stranding 2] is in negotiations right now. So… yay!” The actor was present at the roundtable about the 11th and final season of the post-apocalyptic zombie classic The Walking Dead, the TV series based upon the comics created by writer Robert Kirkman and artist Tony Moore.
Death Stranding is getting a Director’s Cut this September for the PS5, that much has been confirmed already. So, it couldn’t be that title which Reedus is referring to. It is something else then.
Unlike Reedus, Hideo Kojima has previously only hinted at the possibility of a Death Stranding 2, without even mentioning the name of the title and based on the teases, it is a new game at least, if not the sequel. Last year, he teased a project he was working on and in the two images that he shared on Twitter, there was a baby-shaped doll and a sketch of an airship-like vessel on which BRIDGES was written, hinting strongly at a new game set in the Death Stranding universe.
If it is not that, then it could be a horror title. The game director had also entered into a collaboration with horror manga artist Junji Ito (Uzumaki and others, if you read the stuff) for a horror game, which could be his another shot at the genre after Silent Hills was cancelled. Let’s wait and see if more details emerge.
