Kevin Bacon Cast As Undead Bounty Hunter In New TV Show

Kevin Bacon has been cast in a new TV show about an undead bounty hunter.

According to Deadline, the Footloose star will head up The Bondsman, a new horror drama series from Blumhouse TV about a former bounty hunter who’s raised from the dead.

The drama has picked up a straight-to-series order and will head to Amazon Prime Video. Bacon stars as Hub Halloran, “a backwoods bounty hunter who comes back from the dead with an unexpected second chance at life, and love, and a nearly forgotten musical career — only to find that his old job now has a demonic new twist.”

Amazon has ordered eight half-hour episodes of the show, however, production won’t begin until after the ongoing WGA writers’ strike is resolved.

The series is based on an original idea from creator Grainger David while Erik Oleson will serve as showrunner. Oleson previously served as showrunner on Season 3 of Marvel’s Daredevil.

Kevin Bacon is obviously no stranger to horror having starred as Jack in the original Friday the 13th back in 1980. Over the years, he’s become a bit of a horror icon, starring in classics such as Flatliners, Tremors, and more.

Bacon himself is on board as executive producer alongside Jason Blum, Chris McCumber, Jeremy Gold, and Chris Dickie for Blumhouse TV as well as Erik Oleson and Paul Shapiro from CrimeThink. The Bondsman also marks Bacon’s second TV series for Amazon Prime Video after he previously took the title role in the hit comedy, I Love Dick.

Meanwhile, Blumhouse TV is about to launch the upcoming horror TV series The Horror of Dolores Roach on Amazon Prime Video.
