Google claims that Google Nest Hub 2nd Generation comes with a new dedicated on-device machine learning chip which allows the company to transfer some of its Assistant capabilities from its data centers to the device. This helps the device to respond quickly to voice commands. It is said to be based on the same audio technology as Nest Audio. Google also claims that the Nest Hub 2nd Generation has been designed using recycled materials.

Google Nest Hub 2nd generation features
Google 2nd Generation Nest Hub smart display comes with a new technology which includes a dedicated on-device machine learning chip, a built-in Soli chip for music controls and sleep tracking. Along with this, the smart display also comes with improvements over the first generation Nest Hub.
The new on-device machine learning chip allows Google to transfer some of its Assistant capabilities from their data centers to the device itself. This enables faster responses for common commands.
This new smart display uses the same audio technology as its predecessor. However, the company has made 50% improvement in the bass response. Google has also included its gesture-sharing Soli tech into the new Nest Hub. It also enables users to use air-gestures to perform certain actions of the software.
The Soli technology of the smart display allows an advanced Sleep Sensing feature in the Nest Hub. With this technology, the device can sense movement and breathing and it also analyses the sleep state of the person sleeping closest to the device.
