story studio: Snap launches video editing app Story Studio for creators – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Snapchat‘s parent company — Snap has launched a new standalone video editing app called Story Studio. Designed for creators the editing app claims to make the vertical video-making process more engaging. The company initially announced the app in May this year and it is now available for iOS users in select countries.
With this new app, Snapchat users can add effects like text, trending audio and AR lenses. The video created using the app can be directly uploaded to Spotlight which is a TikTok-styled video section. The videos can be downloaded and shared on other platforms.
The company has also said that Story Studio requires an iPhone with an A12 processor or newer and iOS 14.7 or above. The minimum supported iPhones are the iPhone XR and iPhone XS. Snap’s Story Studio is available to download from the Apple Store in the US, UK and Canada. The company is said to roll out more widely next year.
Recently, Snapchat announced that its monthly user base has reached 100 million in the country. Snap Inc, the parent company of Snapchat, virtually hosted the second edition of ‘Snap in India’. At the event, Snap co-founder and CEO Evan Spiegel announced the milestone of reaching 100 million Snapchatters monthly in India.
Snapchat’s app allows users to share photos with friends and offers filters and lenses that are augmented reality-enabled.
Snap has also been partnering with a number of brands in the country. The company has announced a strategic partnership with the homegrown e-commerce marketplace, Flipkart to develop innovative AR experiences for e-commerce.
