Amazon Echo Dot 5th gen smart speaker has launched in India with improved sound setup and a host of new sensors and control options. You can ask Alexa to play music, tell you jokes, get answers, create reminders, and more. Here we list down the key new Echo Dot 5 features.

1.  Improved speaker system

The new Echo Dot brags a custom full-range driver and the highest excursion speaker found on the Echo lineup. Thanks to Bluetooth, you can control the Echo Dot using a smartphone.

2. Ultrasound Motion Detection

The ultrasound motion detectors within the Echo Dot 5th gen can trigger various Alexa routines like automatically switching on smart lights or music playback when the user enters the room.

3. Temperature sensor

This sensor keeps tab on the current temperature of the room and accordingly switches on or switches off the smart AC automatically as it deems fit.

4.  Tap gesture controls

Tap the top of the Echo Dot 5th gen to control music playback, and cancel timers, as well as Alexa calls. Even the edge of the device is responsive to gestures. That means more options to trigger Alexa.

5. Alexa privacy settings

You can now disable microphone access on the Echo Dot 5th gen using a built-in button. You can also view and delete your voice recordings. 

Amazon Echo Dot 5th gen price and availability

Amazon Echo Dot 5th gen is available in India at an introductory price of ₹4,999 between March 2nd to 4th. Post that, it will be retailing for ₹5,499. You can grab the new Echo Dot 5th gen in Black, Blue, and White colours from Amazon, Croma, Reliance Digital, etc.
